Mansion Fairytail by Angela Gomez

Plan The Royal Wedding of Your Dreams Right Here on The Treasure Coast!

With the real Royal Wedding only 10 short days away, how can you capitalize on the hype to fulfill your own wedding dreams?

Martin County, FL., April 19, 2011— Every little princess dreams of that perfect Fairytale Wedding. You know; the one with the horse drawn white carriage that will carry you in old world style to your handsome and charming prince.  Make your fairytale royal wedding come to life. No, you don’t need to travel across the pond to London. Your dream wedding can take place right here on the Treasure Coast. If you have your prince, we have the ideas for your royal themed wedding.

First thing first, you need a castle or in this case a Mansion. You and your prince can experience the splendor and joy of a Royal Wedding right here in Jensen Beach at the Tuckahoe Mansion. The Mansion is the premier venue combining elegance with traditional, timeless style situated along the fabulous Indian River. Enjoy breathtaking views from every balcony of your “castle”. This “Jewel” of Martin County offers the bride and groom extraordinary amenities that will provide priceless memories for years to come. Make use of the Mansion’s bridal suite or in this case the princess powder room for you and your bridesmaids to dress and pamper yourselves preparing for the big event.

Once your royal venue is secured, plan for grand entrances. Enter the Mansion by riding in a horse drawn carriage up the circular driveway. Your guests will meet you at the top of Mount Elizabeth as they sit in white chavari chairs facing the mansion, lined up in a half moon arrangement with a long isle. The floral archway, with the grand white mansion as a back drop, is where you will say your “I Do’s.” Enter the reception, held under a clear tent decorated with white lights and chandeliers; via a winding white staircase spotlighted therefore the focus is on you and your prince.

Develop your fairytale wedding with a magical first dance as husband and wife. Prepare for your first dance by taking ballroom dance lessons before your big day. Put these lessons to good use as you twirl around the restored terrazzo dance floor to a string quartet playing a waltz. Soften your dance floor décor with satin white drapes. Decorate the Mansion’s eight fireplaces by adding floating candles to the mantles and hearths creating a twinkling, romantic lighting.

Set the mood at your reception. A royal wedding is anything but simple; it is elegant and extravagant. Dinner under the stars, overlooking the river with a mansion back drop is a good start. Utilize local vendors such as event rental companies and florists for extra royal décor. Picture this; shiny, silver candelabras with native flowers cascading down to the tables, satin linens and chair covers softening the look of the clear tent and ice sculptures positioned next to each bar. A royal wedding should have a royally rich color scheme; try rose and royal blue, navy and champaign or black, white and fuchsia. At the Mansion, there is no such thing as clashing of colors; go bold on your color choices as the Mansion stays true to its historic roots with its’ white and ivory walls.

Last but certainly not least, you and your new hubby need to plan for a grand departure. Guests will wait patiently outside the front door of the mansion with lit sparklers illuminating the mansion and your path to a getaway car…but, not just any getaway car; think vintage 1930’s Mercedes Benz Roadster or an equally luxurious, vintage automobile.

Who needs the Westminster Abby when you have Tuckahoe right here in Jensen Beach? Plan your Royal Wedding in your home state of Florida. For more information on weddings and special events at The Mansion at Tuckahoe call Angela at 772-288-5737.

Wedding invitations

How to plan your wedding stationery.

When should I send my Save the Dates?
6-12 months:  Give your guests time to plan for your destination, holiday, summer, fall, winter or spring wedding.  This is especially important if you have many out of town guests.  My personal favorite is a "Save the Date" magnet you can personalize with photo or wedding website to keep your guests informed.

When should I begin researching my invitations?
At least 6 months prior to your wedding date.  This will allow plenty of time for research, designing and proofing.  Meet with a professional to help you find the perfect choice.  Your invitations set the tone for your nuptials.  Will it be a casual or elegant affair.  You can say it all with one piece of paper.

When should I send my invitations?
Invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks before your wedding date.  Make sure to weigh your invitations.  When you include invite, reception and respond be careful this could include additional postage.

Respond Cards:  Keep a special box as a keepsake, This will make sending out the thank you cards following much easier and will also allow you quick access for a final count for your cater.

Wedding Announcements:  If your circle of friends and relatives is larger than the list you intend to invite to the ceremony, or if you have a private wedding, you will want to send an announcement of your wedding.  This will include the wedding date, but not the time or location of the  ceremony,  mail the day of the wedding.

Thank You Notes:  Send within two months of the wedding.  Always write a personal thank you note thanking your guests for sharing in your day and let the gift givers know their gift was received.

Wedding Programs:  A great way for guests to follow the ceremony and learn who is in your wedding party.  This also enables you to share a special personalized message or poem with you guests.  Provides guests with a nice memento of your special day.

Place Cards and Table Cards:  Makes sit-down meals less chaotic if people have assigned seats, or at least assigned tables.  Place cards list the guest's name and table and are often displayed on a table outside the reception room.

Etiquette questions

Other than friends, the groom's family and my family, who should receive wedding invitations?
Send invitations to the members of the wedding party and their parents.  All children over the age of sixteen should recieve their own invitation.  Plan to order an additional twenty-five invitations to allow for the unexpected.  It is less expensive to buy extras on your additional order.

Should I have a return address printed on the back flap of the invitation's outer envelope?
Yes!  The U.S. Postal service suggests that all first-class mail have a return address.  It gives the wedding guest an address to which to send a reply (if you do not use a response card).  Also, it ensures that you will know if the invitation does not reach its destination as it will be returned to the sender.  Or you can also make personalized seals to match your theme of your invitations.

Is it acceptable to send gift registry cards with the invitation?
It is not proper to include with your wedding invitation any cards that mentions gifts you expect to recieve.  Let friends and family spread the word on where you are registered.  This should however be mentioned on your personal wedding website.

How do you address the outer envelope of an invitation to a married couple if the woman has kept her maiden name?
If the woman kept her name, address the envelope with both names on the same line.
Example:  Mr. William Smith and Caroline Williams
                    28 Brookview Avenue

For an invitation to an unmarried couple living together, list their names alphabetically on separate lines without "and"
Example:  Mr. William Smith
                   Ms. Caroline Williams

I had the great pleasure of "Tying the knot" for Meagan and Mathew Dandoe this weeked.  I use the term "tying the knot"  because it was a new style ceremony for me and the results were amazing.  As I read a nice poem the Bride and groom actually use a rope and perform a hand fasting.  I would like to give a thanks to Abbey of London's Gary and Julie for all the fine work they did.  The pictures are wonderful.  And as always Laurali at Idian River Plantation was very accommodating.
